 "Buy it!!" 2010-03-29
By smartini (North West UK)
i now cant sleep unless i can hear the faint beeping! the system is easy to set up and transport if needed, we use it ALL the time. the only down side is the audio isn't very good, but we combine its use (when we're not in the room) with the motorolla video monitor (which also has night vision) so you can get the audio from that. the alarm (which goes off after 20secs of no movement) is very loud and you can hear it all over the house.

i wouldn't put my baby down to sleep without using the Angelcare and we'll carry on using it for a long time to come.

(also - baby sleeps fine with it, has been sleeping through since 7 weeks)

"Just what you need and want" 2010-03-13

Love it - I originally bought the Tommee Tippee equivalent of this product, was great for about a month and then continually lost signal making it useless and very annoying with a continual beeping when it lost signal and then found signal not to mention the fact that I could not hear my baby or the alarm - Tommee tippee said I needed to buy a digital onitor but you cant get one with the sensor mat and I am not ready to get rid of it yet so did my homework and bought the angelcare and it is just great (despite still being analogue - it runs on a frequency not really used by anything else)- I was blown away by the clarity of the sound and all the functions it has - some people have said it is complicated to use but I did not think so at all, just got to read the manual but once you know how to change a function, every other one is the same - the mat sensitivity is extremely high, it is even picking up her movements now despite the fact we have had to angle the mattress up as she has a cold while the mat is flat to the cot base (cardboard packing works just as well as the piece of ply suggested). Its very useful having the temp on the parents unit - I was continually forgetting to turn the mat off when I picked up my daughter so the tommee tippee alarm was continually going off, however the anglecare gives you a warning beep before the alarm goes off, plenty of time to switch it off - go for it - buy it - Angelcare AC401 Baby Movement Sensor Pad and Sound Monitor

"Works perfectly and IS easy to use" 2010-03-09
By S. West
Read a few reviews of this product before buying and I have to say I'm puzzled by some of the comments by others that it's too complicated and the instructions are not clear. Maybe the manufacturers have made some changes, because I found the instructions perfectly clear and the product is easy to setup and use.

Some people have said that the sensitivity dial on the back of the base unit for the movement sensor doesn't specify whether 1 or 5 is more or less sensitive - it's in the instructions (1 is the least, 5 is the most sensitive, funnily enough). One guy complained about having to put up with the ticking noise the hand unit makes every time it registers movement - it's clear in the instructions how to turn that off (he also complained that without the ticking noise he'd have to watch the little pendulum on the display all the time - talk about missing the point!!).

This product has worked perfectly for us now for 4 months and gives us tremendous peice of mind. I'm not saying that it will prevent cot death - there's no statistical evidence that movement sensors do - but our baby is a very quiet sleeper, so it's so reassuring to just open my eyes and see the little green light blinking on and off, even when she's so still. We've only had a couple of false alarms, and even then it only gave the initial single warning beep before movement was detected again. I didn't even bother adjusting the sensitivity as it's good to know it's right on the line.

The range is great - I've taken the handset outside while putting the car in the garage and it still picked up the signal. Never had the wireless broadband interfere with it either (but you can change the channel if it does).

In summary, this is a great product and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. The built in night light and temperature gauge are great too - don't bother buying seperate products, particularly the GroEgg - see my review of that if you're thinking of buying.

"Great product - look no further" 2010-03-07

This is a really nice quality baby monitor which does everything that you could want. We use the apnea monitor and find it gives us peace of mind and doesn't stress us out. I like the way that the monitor beeps once to let you know that it is about to go off - as we still forget to switch it off when we take the baby out of the cot. If I was being picky I would say that the menu system isn't that intuitive and you have to go through the instructions a few times but the monitor can be customised any way you want. I also would have liked if the handset was slightly louder as it can't be heard that well if you are watching TV etc. However, I am really pleased with this product and would definitely recommend it.

 "Brilliant product" 2010-03-04
By M. Howells
Bought this over the tomee tippee because it can now be recharged (older model couldn't) and it was cheaper. It's brilliant, it really is. Rather than use a 6mm wooden board for the movement mat to sit on we use a hardback book (think that book's called tiddler...) and have had no problems at all with it. Our daughter is now 10 days old and have had it in her moses basket from day one.

Only downsides I can think of:

For our 1st child we did not have a movement sensor, we just used a BT monitor which had two way speaking on it, with this AngelCare the parent can not speak to the child. Also, so far I have not found and music to play the child.

I seriously would recommend this to anyone who is stressy about monitoring their baby's sleeping. My partners sister has also just purchased this and loves it too.
